The bank has once again been recognised as one of the most advanced employers in Poland in terms of diversity and inclusivity management. This year, 54 companies qualified for the Diversity IN Check list. Santander Bank Polska was among the top 8 organisations scoring above 80%.

The Diversity IN Check is used to measure the maturity of an organisation when it comes to managing diversity, inclusion and monitoring its achievements in terms of social cohesion. To be included in the list, an adequate number of points is required in a survey conducted by the Responsible Business Forum. Five thematic areas are covered: governance basics, programmes and activities of the organisation, building commitment, outcome indicators and products and services.

We are glad that our efforts have been recognised by independent experts. Diversity and inclusivity have been a cornerstone of our bank's corporate culture for years. We are involved in many projects that promote gender equality, equal opportunities and pay. We create a stereotype-free, friendly and inclusive workplace. We want every employee and customer to feel safe and comfortable with us. Since 2017, we have been a signatory to the Diversity Charter, which means that we actively support and promote equal treatment of employees. We are convinced that diversity and inclusivity benefit teams, the organisation, society and are the basis for creating a sustainable, equitable future for generations to come.

The strategic actions that Santander Bank Polska is undertaking include reducing the gender pay gap and increasing the proportion of women in executive management. The bank also runs the 'Differently Abled’ programme, which prepares the organisation to employ people with disabilities and raises awareness of the needs of this group of employees.  It also implements a number of internal projects, such as Diversity Ambassadors with female leaders from the bank, Employee Networks, educational actions, training courses, webinars and the Santander Women podcast. In addition, as part of the „Barrier-Free Service” initiative, Santander Bank Polska is adapting its branches and implementing amenities for people with special needs regardless of where they are served – in the branch, by phone, online or through an ATM.

The Diversity IN Check survey questionnaire was based on internationally recognised standards and guidelines, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals, GRI standards, the ISO 26000 and ISO 30415:2021 standards or the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
