“Fairy Tales for Adults” in a new version! Santander Bank Poland continues its educational campaign on cyber security.

Goal 3 - Good health and well-being
Goal 4 - Quality eduaction
Goal 9 - Industry, innovation and infractructure
Goal 11 - Sustainable cities and communities

The story of Wiesław, who was stranded in outer space and needed money to return home, kicks off the next iteration of Santander Bank Polska’s educational campaign „Don’t Believe in Fairy Tales” which raises awareness and warns against fraudsters in cyberspace. The narrator is once again Piotr Adamczyk.

This year, the “Don’t Believe in Fairy Tales” campaign gained a new dimension – the stories were developed not only by Santander Bank Polska experts, but also by its employees and customers, who sent their entries in competitions organized by the bank. The fairy tales can be viewed at https://www.santander.pl/bajki/

Wiesław's story proves that even the most unbelievable but well-plotted story can lull our vigilance and lead to serious consequences. Any of us can fall victim to increasingly sophisticated scams based on AI or deepfake technology, which is why the Don't Believe in Fairy Tales campaign was created to raise widespread awareness of how creative and devious scammers can be. So that stories like the one about the French woman who transferred more than 800,000 euros to a scammer claiming to be Brad Pitt will not happen again. ” I am pleased that this year's edition has engaged our employees and customers. This shows a growing awareness, willingness to act and support especially the most vulnerable group, seniors, who are increasingly willing to use multimedia and various digital platforms,” adds Joanna Bucholc.

The fairy tales will be broadcast on Santander Bank Poland’s social media channels and while waiting to be connected to the bank’s helpline, as “Fairy tales while on hold.” The campaign will also include educational workshops at Work Cafe Santander in Warsaw and Gdańsk.

High-impact educational campaign

The previous edition of the campaign consisting of seven spots enjoyed huge user engagement on social media. The tales were widely commented on and shared online. They were also broadcast on radio stations and Spotify. The first edition of “Don’t Believe in Fairy Tales” was awarded three “Golden Clipper” statuettes in a key PR competition in Poland.

“Don’t Believe in Fairy Tales” is part of Santander Bank Poland’s long-term efforts to promote #CyberConsciousness among customers and other financial market participants. Other projects include the “CyberProverbs” and the Santander Foundation’s program “Self-Reliant and Safe Seniors Online.”

The bank’s customers can also take advantage of “CyberRescue,” which provides ongoing expert support on Internet security. In an emergency situation, customers can contact CyberRescue experts 24 hours a day via Messenger, email, phone call and text message.
