25 Years of the Banker’s Hike!
Santander Bank Polska S.A. cares about the well-being of its employees, and therefore, encourages them to spend their leisure time actively, participating in the next edition of the Banker’s Hike (“Rajd Bankowca”). It is the largest internal recreation event organized by the Bank for the past 25 years. The Hike combines employee and family integration with active recreation.
Every year, we make sure that the Hike offer is as diverse as possible and tailored to all generational groups. Hence, we propose appropriately profiled routes (relax, active, extreme) and dedicated trips for families with children and adults that focus on physical activity. All the activities are carried out with the employees and their families in mind. We want to increase the sense of security, create an engaging work environment, and support employees in leading a healthy lifestyle and help them achieve a work-life balance.
The Banker’s Hike offers bicycle, sailing, hiking, horse riding, skiing and snowboarding routes. Both current and former employees with their families can participate in the Hike once a year on preferential terms – the event is subsidized from the additional benefit fund.
The available routes (depending on the profile chosen) provide many possibilities to:
get to know the most attractive regions of Poland
ski, snowboard, cycle, sail, kayak, go horseback riding or mountain climbing
get in touch with nature (parks and nature reserves) and regional folklore
actively take part in art workshops
try regional dishes
visit museums and military monuments (forts, bunkers and fortifications)
integrate with other employees during integration evenings/festivities
This year, nearly 1,000 people participated in the three editions of the Banker’s Hike (Szklarska Poręba – 8-day long family trip during the winter break, Lublin Region: family trip with the Green Velo route for active cyclists and autumn trekking in the Dolomites, Italy). On average 90% of participants declared their presence in next year’s Hike, and on average 91% of participants recommend the Hike to others.
