Knowledge of cyber security, programming and data analytics are sought-after and necessary skills in the labour market. That is why Santander Bank Polska, together with universities, has launched free training courses to develop these competences. The courses cover cyber security, Python programming, SQL for data analysts and Business Intelligence.

The scholarships are designed for people who are over 18, live in Poland and want to develop their competences. The first of these, the Santander Scholarship | Basics of Cyber Security, is an introduction to cyber security training course organised together with Poznań University of Technology. It is a 16-hour online course on such topics as passwords and networking, rules for safe and proper computer use, data security and threats to data security. The training aims to raise awareness of cyber security and build skills to deal with cyber threats. To take part in the free course, you need to fill in the application form, which can be found on the Santander Scholarships platform, by 20 May 2023. There are 250 places waiting for applicants.

The second Santander Scholarship training in Python, SQL and BI is aimed at people who want to develop their digital expertise in Python programming, SQL or business analysis. The gratuitous courses are organised in cooperation with Wrocław University of Economics. There are 300 places available in 1 of the 3 online courses offered.

  • In the course on the basics of Python programming, you will learn how to create simple algorithms, the basics of Python syntax, using libraries or writing your own functions.
  • The course on SQL for data analysts will cover topics related to the basics of databases (what is a table, entity, ANSI 92 standard and others), SQL language propaedeutics (system tables, interface, SQL query editors: graphical, textual and web) and SQL language basics (explanation of all DQL clauses, DML and DDL basics).
  • The course, entitled 'Business Intelligence and Communication in the Analytics Department’, will show examples of the use of BI reports in the decision-making process. It will also present an overview of the Business Intelligence (BI) tools available on the market and their applications. In addition, it will explain when to use Power BI web service and when to use Power BI desktop.
