Santander Group partners with Coursera to provides free access to training courses for 10,000 people for a year
The Santander Group, in partnership with global online learning platform Coursera, is offering free of charge, one-year access to thousands of training courses. Course topics include marketing and communications, cybersecurity or ESG. Participants in the program will also be able to take courses, after which they will receive professional certifications from international tycoons. Enrollment continues until March 19, 2025 on the Santander Open Academy website.
On the Coursera learning platform, participants will have access to more than 11,000 courses. They will also get access to classes offering professional certifications from partners such as IBM, Microsoft, Google, and Amazon. The program is open to anyone 18 years of age or older, regardless of educational background or whether they are bank customers or not. Participation in the program is free of charge. Candidates can apply for 5 available thematic blocks: marketing, cybersecurity, soft skills, sustainability and professional certification. Qualified applicants will receive access not only to courses from the thematic block of their choice, but also to the full catalogue of more than 11,000 courses on the Coursera platform. The training, delivered in partnership with Coursera, is aimed at residents of 13 countries, including Poland. Coursera is a one-stop shop combining competencies and advanced knowledge in areas incredibly useful in the face of today's, but also rapidly changing labour market. It is an investment in career development, increasing one's competitiveness, but also an effective incentive for ongoing further education in line with the idea of #NeverStopLearning.
Courses on Coursera are 100% online, and the platform is very popular among Poles. According to the study “Education in the Digital Age,” conducted by SW Research on behalf of Edukier.pl (October 2023), Poles are changing their approach to education. Nearly half are using virtual classes, and 31 percent consider them more effective than traditional teaching methods. Their main advantage mentioned by 53 percent of respondents, is convenience – the ability to learn anywhere, anytime. Another important advantage, valued by 51 percent of respondents, is significant time savings, especially in the context of the fast pace of modern life.
