In the “ESG Ranking . Responsible Management,‘” the bank scored 100% in all categories it identified as important. This means that for the first time, it took first place in the overall ranking and in the industry ranking in the ‘Banking and financial sector’ category. The organisers also awarded the bank the title of leader in the S (Social) and G (Governance) areas.

The ranking confirms that sustainable development remains a challenge for the Polish economy. It also shows that the largest companies take these challenges seriously and, through their practices, motivate their business partners to change as well.

In addition, five projects implemented by Santander Bank Polska and its Foundation were recognised in the annual publication of the Responsible Business Forum entitled ‘Responsible Business in Poland. Good Practices’:

  • Finansiaki – two surveys conducted for a financial education project: ‘Economic socialisation in Polish households’ and ‘Attitudes of children and young people towards finance’, as part of the Year of Economic Education.
  • Santander Open Academy educational platform.
  • ‘Business over coffee’ educational webinar series.
  • Our employee networks.
  • ‘The Flame Club’ – renovations in hospitals with children’s wards.

Such awards tell us that we are on the right track. They motivate us to keep working on sustainability every day, in line with our Total Responsibility strategy. Being part of an independent ranking lets us measure our progress and benchmark ourselves against other companies. Measurable, transparent results build the credibility of our bank and confirm its position in the market.

ESG ranking. Responsible Management

This is the 19th edition of the ranking compiled by Kozminski Business Hub at Kozminski University. The publication is based on company submissions, which are then independently reviewed by the ESG Ranking Scientific Council. This year’s survey consists of 70 questions in eleven sections. The division is based on the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and the EU CSRD Directive. The partners of the ranking are the Responsible Business Forum and the UNEP/GRID Centre. Deloitte is the expert partner responsible for reviewing the submissions. In total, over 300 of the largest Polish companies have already participated in the ‘ESG Ranking. Responsible Management’. This is an annual publication issued by the Responsible Business Forum. It is a comprehensive review of tangible actions taken by companies in the area of ESG and sustainable development. This year’s 23rd edition gathered 957 examples of good practices submitted by 265 companies. The  activities were classified into seven areas in accordance with ISO 26000, an international standard that sets guidelines for corporate social responsibility.
