Santander Bank Polska won the Banking Star 2025 title for its overall performance in the 11th edition of the Banking Stars ranking. The main award was granted for, among other things, excellent financial results, innovation and customer trust. The bank was also recognised in three other categories.

Santander Bank Polska has won an award in the “Stars of Banking” competition, which ranks the best commercial banks in Poland based on objective data, customer reviews and independent expert opinions. The bank also took a place on the podium in three other categories. Based on, inter alia, financial performance indicators, the jury awarded Santander Bank Polska first place in the ‘Finance Star’ category, which assessed, among other things, the bank’s stability, the level of non-performing loans and the return on assets. In the categories ‘Technology and Innovation Star’ and ‘ESG Star’, the bank came third.

This year’s ranking was based on a multi-source and multidimensional analysis covering three key areas of assessment. The first was the banks’ financial statements for 2023–2024, which were used to analyse the institutions’ performance, stability and growth dynamics. The second source was internal surveys in which banks independently presented their activities in the field of innovation, ESG strategy implementation and customer base data. The third component was customer opinion surveys, including NPS assessment, measuring, among other things, the quality of customer experience and the level of trust in the bank. In each category, points were awarded based on a gradation of results – the leader received 100 points, and the other banks received 80, 60, 50, 40, 30, 25, 20, 15 or 10 points, accordingly. The scoring took into account several dozen detailed indicators.

The ranking is organised by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna in cooperation with Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

The awards were presented during a gala ceremony at the European Financial Congress in Sopot.
