Santander Bank Polska named best investment bank in Poland by Euromoney magazine
Santander Bank Polska was voted the best investment bank in Poland by an international jury of experts and analysts. Also, in the same Euromoney Awards for Excellence competition, Santander won the titles of ‘Best Bank in Poland for Responsible Business’ and ‘Best Bank in Poland for Customer Experience.’
This is another year in which Santander Bank Polska has gained recognition from an international group of experts, this time in three important areas of activity. The title of the best bank in Poland in the area of investment banking confirms our strong position as a comprehensive provider of investment services for corporations. This is a testament to both our strategy and the mission we pursue every day, helping companies and large corporations achieve even greater success. Our results prove that we have a deep understanding of the needs of all customer segments.
The competition jury particularly appreciated the rapid growth of the investment banking segment in 2024. Santander Bank Polska recorded a 63% increase in revenues from equity capital market (ECM) services compared to the previous year, which confirms the effectiveness of its implemented strategy of growth in this area. The bank also significantly strengthened its position as a partner in public share and bond issues. At the same time, the bank effectively supported institutional customers in hedging currency, commodity and interest rate risks, which resulted in a 45% increase in revenues from derivative transactions (CED) (year-on-year). In addition, the bank recorded a 25% (y/y) increase in revenues from trade finance services. The jury also recognised the bank’s innovative approach to the digitalisation of solutions for customers in this segment and its key role in the execution of numerous international transactions.
High customer satisfaction in our relations with customers has been at the heart of our strategy for many years. I believe that customer trust in a bank can only be built on a foundation of high-quality services and responsible conduct. That is why I am all the more pleased that this year the bank also won the Euromoney Awards for Excellence in the customer experience and responsible banking categories. This also proves that our strategy is sound and effective. However, no strategy can work without well-trained and professional employees and I would like to thank our staff for their dedication and commitment.
Best bank in Poland for customer experience
The competition jury awarded Santander Bank Polska the title of Best Bank in Poland for Customer Experience for systematically making new products and services available to retail customers and simplifying processes that facilitate everyday banking. This includes, among other things, the use of identity verification in the mObywatel app for online processes such as opening an account and applying for a credit card for new customers. In the new account opening process, 90% of accounts are opened in less than one minute.
Last year, the bank also improved the features available in its mobile app, including Santander on the Go, a service that helps customers when travelling abroad, the option to open foreign currency accounts in 12 currencies, a simplified transfer process, and the introduction of new sections such as My Insurance and Price Guide, a tool that helps customers monitor their transactions in a given month to avoid account and card fees. In 2024, the service was used 1.5 million times, and 94% of users rated it with the highest score.

Best Bank for Corporate Responsibility
In the category of Best Bank for Corporate Responsibility, Santander Bank Polska was recognised for, among other things, implementing products and services that support sustainable transformation. These include, for example, a free Carbon Footprint Calculator, available to companies on the Santander New Energy platform.
Last year, Santander Bank Polska also stood out for its responsible approach to reducing the risks associated with greenwashing. The bank expanded its structures for identifying and classifying sustainable transactions and products in terms of their compliance with the criteria of the internal SFICS system and with the EU taxonomy. In 2024, the volume of new financing in accordance with SFICS across the entire Santander Bank Polska Group amounted to PLN 8,669 million.
The jury also acknowledged the results achieved in the social area. For example, 10.1 million beneficiaries of social assistance provided by Santander Bank Polska in 2024, as well as social investments made during the year amounting to PLN 10.61 million.
