Santander Bank Polska will soon become Erste Bank Polska
The shareholders of SBP have decided to change the name to Erste Bank Polska. The introduction of the new brand is planned for the second quarter and will be supported by an image campaign. New members have been appointed to the Supervisory Board.
The Bank has planned a rebranding process for the entire Capital Group to emphasize its affiliation with the Austrian Erste Group, a leading banking institution in Central and Eastern Europe. After approval by the Extraordinary General Meeting, the new name will be registered in the National Court Register in Poland. The name change is planned for the second quarter of 2026. At the same time, all subsidiaries of the Santander Bank Polska Capital Group that include “Santander” in their names will also receive new names. The rebranding will not apply to Santander Consumer Bank in Poland, which already belongs 100% to the Santander Group.
Since 9 January 2026, Erste Group has been the main shareholder of Santander Bank Polska S.A. Erste Group is one of the most recognized financial brands in Europe, which for over 200 years has supported the creation of prosperity, consistently engaging in activities for the benefit of customers and local communities.
Erste Group serves more than 23 million customers and ranks among the top three financial institutions in most of its eight key markets in Europe. In addition to retail banking, Erste maintains a strong position in commercial banking and capital markets. Corporate banking, investment banking, and commercial real estate segments account for around half of the Group’s revenues. The Group cooperates with nearly one million micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, supporting the development of companies that form the backbone of the region’s economies. In 2025, the prestigious Euromoney magazine awarded Erste Group the title of “Best Bank in Central and Eastern Europe.”
New members have been appointed to the Bank’s Supervisory Board: Peter Bosek, Chair, Alexandra Habeler–Drabek, Stefan Dörfler, and Maurizio Poletto.
The biographies of the new Supervisory Board members are available at www.santander.pl.
The new bank name will be introduced through a nationwide informational and image campaign. Drawing on its experience in similar processes, the Bank will prepare the rebranding in a way that is minimally disruptive to customers.
The change of name and logo will not require customers to take any additional actions. Bank account numbers, card expiry dates, PIN numbers, and helpline numbers will remain unchanged. Customers will continue to use online banking and bank branches, where advisors will be available. All existing agreements remain in force.
Until the name change is registered in the National Court Register, the website addresses of the bank and its subsidiaries, as well as online banking login pages, will remain unchanged.
