Don’t believe in fairy tales. New edition of Santander Bank Polska’s educational campaign on cyber security
”Don’t believe in fairy tales” is the next edition of the educational campaign related to online safety carried out by Santander Bank Polska. The playfully re-told stories, based on well-known fairy tale classics, warn of the dangers in cyberspace.
”Don’t believe in fairy tales” presents in an accessible way how a well-planned but untrustworthy story can lull vigilance and what consequences it will lead to. In this year’s edition of the campaign, the bank has prepared five tales: ”Puss without boots”, ” Fox and crow”, ” Two men who stole from the moon”, ” Grandpa with no coconuts” and ”Ali Baba and 40 texts” narrated by Piotr Adamczyk. The tales contain stories of ‘BLIK’ scams, phishing, vishing, deepfakes and other methods by which cyber criminals scam internet users out of their data and information.
Cyber threats can take many forms, and without knowing how they work, it is difficult to prepare an effective defence strategy. Seniors are especially vulnerable to such threats, and they often fall victim to online crime. Cybercriminals take advantage of seniors' lack of technological literacy to expose them to loss of money or phishing. The campaign draws the audience's attention to the fact that in addition to protecting ourselves, we must also remember to educate our loved ones on these topics. With the ‘Don't believe in fairy tales’ campaign, we want to raise awareness of a variety of online scams, especially phishing, as well as the manipulation and social engineering used by cybercriminals.
The ‘Fairy Tales for Adults’ campaign is supported by well-known influencers, including Gdzie Bądź, KubaPost, jul.shies, PKSisters and Synek ze Śląska.
Santander Bank Polska has for many years been carrying out activities promoting #CyberAwareness among customers and other financial market participants. These include, for example, close cooperation with the Wielkopolska Police Headquarters in Poznań, in activities promoting cyber security among children, young people as well as seniors. The bank also makes additional services available to customers, such as ‘CyberRescue’, which provides ongoing expert support on internet security. In the event of an emergency, customers can contact CyberRescue experts 24 hours a day, via Messenger, email, phone call and text message.
