‘Don’t improvise, just learn languages’.

Goal 4 - Quality eduaction
Goal 8 - Decent work and economic growth
Goal 11 - Sustainable cities and communities
Goal 17 - Partnerships for the goals

Knowledge of foreign languages, both at a basic and advanced level, is an essential skill for the jobs of the future. Experts are convinced of this, but it is also seen by employees of companies that offer access to knowledge from global markets and solutions based on the latest technologies. In response to these needs, Santander Bank Polska is making 150,000 places available for free online language courses in its ‘Don’t improvise, just learn languages’ campaign. Enrolment continues until 2 December 2024.

We believe in the enormous value that development, including language education, brings to society. Many of the professions of the future involve working with the creation and use of new technologies, or require involvement in innovative international projects. For years, our aim has been to support the development of the competences of the future and to care for equal opportunities in access to education. This is why we have once again decided to create an online language programme with 150,000 places and encourage you to apply.

Magdalena Proga-Stepień

member of the Management Board of Santander Bank Polska, who heads the Retail Banking Division.

According to Dr Justyna Kopczyńska, assistant professor at the Faculty of Sociology of the University of Warsaw, the competences of the future are knowledge, skills and attitudes, without which it is impossible to find one’s place in the rapidly changing world of digital transformation. However, in addition to strictly analytical and digital skills, soft competences, including effective communication, flexibility and openness to the world, as well as cognitive curiosity and readiness for lifelong learning, are also proving crucial. As the sociologist emphasises: – ‘In order to take full advantage of the potential of new technologies and the opportunities presented by the advancing digital transformation, it is essential to have language skills, without which it is difficult to participate fully in the transfer of knowledge and the co-creation of the new globalised digital society. Today, language skills are a competence ‘must have’, allowing both the ability to work in dynamic, dispersed international teams and to access learning and development content from any corner of the world.

This is yet another initiative to support language learning run by Santander Bank Polska together with the Santander Bank Polska Foundation and eTutor. In response to high interest in the previous edition, the organisers increased the number of places to 150,000. Participants in the Santander Training | English, Spanish, German, Italian and French with eTutor 2024 will have a choice of one of five languages: English (including Business English or Travel English and eTutor High School Exam), Spanish, German, French and Italian at different levels. Learning can take place through short lessons, language games or the Diki dictionary. A mobile app will also be available.

At eTutor, we believe that language skills are an important factor for success in a dynamic global reality. We are extremely proud to be part of this unique project, which really helps thousands of people to acquire new competences and better prepare themselves for the challenges of the future.

Radosław Korczyński

CEO of LangMedia, owner of the eTutor platform

The programme is aimed at people over the age of 18, both beginners and advanced students. For 180 days, participants will be able to use the eTutor platform at their own convenience, which, according to Dr Justyna Kopczyńska, is extremely important in view of the current needs of society: 'Thanks to the development of the lifelong learning approach, today it does not matter when we start learning a foreign language – new remote education solutions allow us to develop our language competences at any time, without time and space limitations. Every hour spent learning a new foreign language, or developing or refreshing an existing one, can be the first step towards hitherto unknown opportunities in professional and private life.

You can apply until 2 December 2024. Applicants do not have to be customers of Santander Bank Polska.
