Santander Bank Polska is offering free online language courses for 100,000 participants
In the era of globalisation, knowledge of languages is no longer just an asset, but a necessary skill that helps develop professional career and train your mind. Santander Bank Polska and eTutor are launching this year the second edition of their foreign language learning support programme. The bank is offering 100,000 free-of-charge places on six-month online courses. Applications are open until 29 October.
The start of the school and academic year is the perfect time to think about improving your language skills, which are crucial, especially in a competitive job market. Expanding your language skills is one of the best investments you can make in yourself, giving you an advantage in many aspects of life, such as unlocking the opportunities to work in international corporations, enabling you to carry out projects with specialists from around the world, and making travel easier.
It is worth noting that by learning foreign languages, we develop skills that contribute not only to our professional success, but also boost our health and quality of life. Research shows that mastering a foreign language is a comprehensive workout for the brain, which not only strengthens concentration and memory, but also affects a person’s overall mental and physical wellbeing. According to the results of the research, bilingualism can delay dementia, including the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, by several years, and also significantly reduces the risk of depression. In addition, knowledge of languages not only opens doors to a career in an international environment, but also broadens horizons and increases openness to other cultures, e.g. through the ability to read books in their original language or watch films without subtitles. It is also a path to a better understanding of the world and building self-esteem, which is the basis for our general wellbeing.
In the second edition of the „Santander Training | English, Spanish, German, Italian and French with eTutor 2025” programme, which is just beginning, participants can choose to learn one of five languages: English (including Business English, Travel English and the eTutor Matura module), Spanish, German, French and Italian. The online training takes place on the eTutor platform, which provides interactive exercises to develop all language skills, such as reading, writing and listening comprehension. Course participants have access to a variety of learning formats, such as short lessons, language games and the Diki dictionary. Learning is possible anytime, anywhere thanks to online access and a mobile app. Programme participants gain access to the eTutor platform for 180 days.
Participation in the programme is completely free of charge. To enrol in the programme, you must be at least 18 years old and live in Poland. You do not need to be a customer of Santander Bank Polska. Recruitment is now open and will continue until 29 October on the Santander Open Academy platform.
