Our POWER to help. Santander Bank Polska provided assistance to pediatric oncology centers

Together with our clients, we have donated PLN 200,000 to help ten children’s oncology centers in Poland. 613,000 of the bank’s clients took part in the „Our POWER to help” campaign, carrying out over 3 million BLIK transactions.

Santander Bank Polska donated PLN 0.05 from each BLIK transaction. The clients could also deposit funds for this purpose on the dedicated Santander Bank Polska Foundation account. Thanks to daily banking and voluntary payments made by Santander Bank Polska’s clients, PLN 200,000 was donated to  selected oncological centers for children in Poland to finance purchases of necessary medical equipment for daily diagnosis of the youngest patients.

We want and know how to share with those in need. We regularly organize aid campaigns and invite our clients to join in. And we are really grateful that they do. This year we have so far engaged in two social projects. During the first one, we jointly contributed over PLN 5 million to fight the pandemic. We are proud that that through our second campaign we were able to support such an extremely important cause as helping to treat childhood cancers

The campaign lasted from 14 September to 5 October 2020. During this period, the bank transferred money for the purchase of medical equipment for 10 Polish children’s oncology centers from each executed BLIK transaction which was free of charge for the client (including phone transfers, ATM withdrawals and BLIK purchases).

The campaign involved 613,000 of our clients who, while executing BLIK transactions and donating money, managed to raise PLN 200,000 to help the hospitals. All the funds will go to ten hospitals and pediatric oncology centers to finance purchases of the necessary equipment for small patients

Following the „Double power of helping”, this is another campaign to which we invited our clients. At that time, more than 15,000 people joined in and supported our cause.  As a result, Polish hospitals received more than PLN 5 million for the purchase of specialist  apparatus and protective equipment to fight Covid-19.
