Santander Bank Poland awarded in the Ethical Company competition

Santander Bank Poland has for the third time been among the most ethical Polish companies. The competition awards businesses that are ethical, transparent and socially responsible in their operations.

The winners of the competition are companies that stand out for their adherence to ethical standards, respect for business partners, fair competition, social commitment and building positive relationships within the organization. A detailed questionnaire regarding the codes and bylaws used must be filled out in order to qualify as one of the Ethical Companies. Additionally, strict criteria developed by PwC Legal , the competition partner, must be met.

At Santander Bank Polska, we have been acting in accordance with our Simple, Personal, Fair values for many years. We consistently support and implement initiatives related to business ethics in the broadest sense. We have defined our standards in the "General Code of Conduct." This document specifies ethical principles in detail and presents examples of desired behaviour in particular situations.

The jury appreciated the bank’s internal employee training process on ethics, responsible banking and other ESG topics. It also highlighted the bank’s initiatives and good practices, including monitoring of the gender pay gap and diversity and equality (DEI) goals. According to the jurors, the bank’s compliance management system ensuring effective updating and alignment with legislative changes, also deserves mention.

In addition, the bank’s educational projects were recognized in the competition. The „Finansiaki” program makes it easier for adults to introduce children to the world of finance. In 2023, more than 16,000 individuals benefited from the educational materials. Santander Universidades is another initiative that offers opportunities to learn new skills and expand knowledge. More than 38,000 people from Poland have already benefited from the free courses and scholarships, including 21,000 in 2023.
