The bank has prepared 1,000 places for those wishing to take part in a free training course on investing in the stock market. The course was developed in cooperation with the Warsaw School of Economics and the WSE Foundation. This is another educational activity with which the bank wants to promote the idea of the Year of Economic Education.

The organizers of the Year of Economic Education 2024 emphasize the need for broad support for the financial education of Poles. This is confirmed by the results of a survey periodically conducted by the European Commission, which shows that on a European scale, Poland ranks 6th from the bottom in terms of the level of financial literacy of the society. Moreover, only 3 percent of Poles surveyed declared a high level of confidence in the available investment advice services.

Santander Bank Polska, together with the Warsaw School of Economics and the Warsaw Stock Exchange Foundation, has prepared the educational program Santander Training | Stock Exchange School of the Warsaw Stock Exchange & SGH 2024, which will allow participants to gain high-quality knowledge of the Stock Exchange functioning mechanisms and principles that will help them navigate comfortably in the investment market.

The program is aimed at all adults living in Poland. Participants of the course will receive three-month access to more than 30 hours of recorded training prepared by SGH and the WSE Foundation, and will take part in two webinars led by Pawel Danielewicz – analyst at Santander Brokerage Office (author of the book „Fibonacci Geometry – A Practical Course in Investing in Financial Markets”) and Professor Waldemar Rogowski – lecturer at SGH, chief analyst at the Credit Information Bureau. There are 1,000 places available in the program. The training is prepared by both practitioners and academic lecturers.

Each participant can choose one or both courses:

  1. Basics of Stock Market Investing

  1. Stock Market for Intermediates

According to many experts, including our specialists at the Warsaw School of Economics, 2023 at the Warsaw Stock Exchange was a year in which large companies were gaining in value and it can be said that a bull market prevailed. In contrast, small companies and the NewConnect were in a complete slump. But how to make one's way in this complicated world of indices? What will 2024 bring? What will be the fate of tax relief for issuers or the capital gains tax issue for investors? We shall see. What is certain is that without a well-functioning stock market, there can be no effective economic development. Therefore, it is necessary to continuously educate investors. In cooperation with the WSE Foundation, we are implementing a specialized course on investing in the stock market. It is initiated by the Warsaw School of Economics together with Santander Bank Poland, whose cooperation within the SGH Partners Club is invaluable.

Professor Piotr Wachowiak

Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics.

Financial education is one of the challenges facing our society. Our mission is to help society develop and face the challenges of the future. The previous edition of this training was very popular, so we are launching the next call with an increased number of places so that even more people can participate free of charge.

Wojciech Leśniewski

Director of the Santander Universidades program in Poland.

The Stock Exchange School project is delivered jointly with the WSE Foundation as part of Santander Training and is extremely popular among participants. We greatly appreciate the fact that the current edition of the program is addressed to an even greater number of interested persons, who, under the guidance of excellent tutors, learn about the mechanisms and principles of the capital market. Building on the knowledge gained in the "Basics of Stock Market Investing" and "Stock Market for Intermediates" courses, participants will be able to expand their knowledge and investment skills in practical investment workshops, which is a significant added value of this training.
