Santander Bank Polska and Nexera sign agreement to finance development of fiber optic network in Poland
A loan agreement worth over PLN 1 billion was signed by a consortium of five banks for an investment loan and a revolving loan to finance the development of fiber optic infrastructure in Poland. The funds obtained will allow the company to exceed the number of 700,000 addresses covered by the operator’s fiber optic network.
Santander Group also acts as Financial Advisor to Nexera in the process of obtaining financing and as Security Transaction Coordinator.
We are delighted to have the opportunity to support Nexera in this project together with the other members of the consortium. Thanks to Santander Group's experience in financial advisory and financing for fiber optic networks in Europe, we have made this project a mutual success
With the funds raised, we will be able to continue the development of broadband infrastructure in so-called white spots on the map. These locations (mainly rural areas and small towns in Poland) do not yet have access to broadband Internet. The experience of the last year has shown us that the construction of fiber optic network is an urgent investment and a basic and essential element of urban and rural infrastructure, just like access to other utilities, such as electricity or water
