Santander Bank Polska develops the Paperless ecosystem – a new stage of business digitization

Goal 9 - Industry, innovation and infractructure
Goal 11 - Sustainable cities and communities

Santander Bank Polska, in cooperation with Asseco Data Systems, has introduced two new Paperless services: a one-time qualified signature for corporate clients (also made available by Santander Leasing) and e-Deliveries. The implemented solutions enable customers to digitally sign and send documents.

For many years, Santander Bank Polska has consistently implemented a strategy of digitising business processes. Cooperation with Asseco Data Systems, a qualified trust service provider, has enabled the creation of a comprehensive environment for electronic document signing and circulation, which has streamlined the bank’s internal processes.

Developing Paperless services that facilitate the handling of banking documents is one of the ways we implement the assumptions of the ‘Helping You Achieve More’ strategy and one of its pillars – ‘Total Digitalisation’. Through intensive digitisation of products, services and processes, we create banking that responds to the real needs of customers. In our activities, we focus on building the best digital service channels for our customers and an efficient, digitised work environment for employees. For us, digitalisation is not just technology

New stage of transformation: One-time qualified signature

The next step in developing Paperless services within the Santander Bank Polska Group is the introduction of a one-time qualified signature for corporate clients. The signature has also been made available by Santander Leasing. The solution naturally complements the long-term qualified signature model used so far. The bank is addressing the needs of users who sign documents only occasionally. A one-time qualified signature allows secure remote signing of electronic documents with legal force equivalent to a handwritten signature, without the need for a long-term certificate.

Thanks to the one-time qualified signature, the signature can be obtained entirely online, 24/7, through remote identity verification, including with the use of the mObywatel application.

One-time qualified signatures with the possibility of authorisation via mObywatel are a step towards the future of digital identity. The implementation carried out with Santander Bank Polska will not only streamline everyday processes but will also enable the organisation to prepare for the adoption of the European Digital Identity Wallet, which will become a standard for all organisations in the EU digital ecosystem in the coming years,

Another new service: e-Deliveries

Expanding its Paperless ecosystem, Santander Bank Polska has also implemented a qualified electronic registered delivery service, also developed in cooperation with Asseco. The solution enables sending and receiving electronic correspondence as part of the electronic delivery service. This allows communication processes with customers, partners and public institutions to be conducted fully digitally while maintaining proof of sending and receiving electronic correspondence.

Towards digitalisation

The continuous development of the Paperless ecosystem within the Santander Bank Polska Group demonstrates the maturity of the organisation’s digitalisation strategy — based not on single implementations, but on systematically adding new services that respond to changing regulations and customer needs.
