Santander Bank Polska has won the „Best Bank in Poland” award in this year’s edition of the Awards for Excellence competition organised by the Euromoney magazine.

Santander Bank Polska was recognised for the top quality of its products and services and innovative approach to solutions offered to customers. Faced with a challenging year for the banking sector in 2022 and a difficult macroeconomic situation, the bank successfully nurtured the quality of its services and fulfilled its commitments to stakeholders. The bank was also recognised for its strong social commitment, including helping Ukrainian refugees after the outbreak of war in Ukraine.

Our goal has been and will always be clear - to help customers fulfil their plans and dreams. I am pleased that the bank's efforts have been recognised and appreciated by the financial sector, also on an international level. The title of 'Best Bank in Poland' by Euromoney is the best proof of this and a motivation to continue our efforts for the benefit of our customers and employees.

Michał Gajewski

CEO of Santander Bank Polska

The competition jury highly valued the solutions that make everyday life easier for the bank’s customers, especially those through which the bank supports businesses and enterprises in the face of a difficult economic situation. Last year, the bank launched new solutions such as a fixed-rate loan for SMEs, softPOS, or the first biometric signature in the leasing industry at Santander Leasing and Multisalon24.  Our 'POWERful in Business’ educational campaign was also highly appreciated. The project was dedicated to inspiring and helping SMEs to empower their female leaders, creating and supporting the development of a business network linking them. Last year, Santander Bank Polska also simplified the language of its communication with customers, including, among other things, in the framework agreement for corporate clients.

Additionally, Santander for the first time received as many as three global awards Euromoney Awards: 'World’s Best Bank for SMEs’, 'World’s Best Bank for Financial Inclusion’ and 'World’s Best Bank for the Emerging Markets’.

For the third time in six years, Santander has been named 'World’s Best Bank for SMEs’ and for the third year in a row as 'World’s Best Bank for Financial Inclusion’. In the case of the SME award, the magazine recognised how Santander „combines advice and products to vigorously support the growth of clients and their businesses” and „thus builds long-term relationships with them by offering both financial and non-financial support.”.

Regionally, in addition to the award for 'Best Bank in Poland’, Santander also won 'Best Bank’ in Portugal, Chile, Argentina, Mexico and Uruguay. Among other awards won by Santander in this year’s 'Awards for Excellence’ were also: 'Western Europe’s Best Bank for SMEs’, 'Latin America’s Best Bank’ and 'Latin America’s Best Bank for Wealth Management’.

The Euromoney Awards for Excellence are prestigious awards for the banking sector granted by Euromoney, an international industry magazine. The awards were first presented in 1992 and were the first of their kind, in the global banking sector. In this year’s competition, the jury assessed the customer offering, innovation and product proposition, as well as responsiveness to customer needs, impact and sales performance.
