Santander Bank Polska, Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) and the WSE Foundation launch a free course on investing in the stock market
Santander Bank Polska in cooperation with the Warsaw School of Economics and the Warsaw Stock Exchange Foundation have prepared a free online course on the basics of investing in the stock market. Recruitment for the 14-hour course designed for future and novice investors is now open. Anyone over 18 years old can apply. Participation in the programme is free of charge, and applicants do not need to have a university degree or be a bank customer.
As part of Santander Scholarships, we offer a range of programmes to develop various competencies such as foreign languages, soft skills or digital skills. This time, together with the Warsaw School of Economics and the WSE Foundation, we are offering a programme on investing in the stock market. The lectures are conducted by practitioners and capital market specialists, as well as university lecturers. I am convinced that taking part in this programme will give the participants a lot of knowledge and an inspiring insight into the stock market.
The programme will be delivered between 29 July and 30 September 2022 in the form of lectures, workshops and online exercises. Trainings will be conducted in 4 groups of 45-50 people with lecturers from the Warsaw Stock Exchange Foundation. The last webinar for all groups will be conducted by Wojciech Sieńczyk – Director of Santander Brokerage Office and Wealth Management Area of Santander Bank Polska.
I believe that the basics of investing in the stock market should be mastered by everyone. Economics is a social science and man as a social being acts in various areas, including economics. I am confident that our finance specialists and WSE practitioners will provide the course participants with thorough knowledge on how to invest money wisely and safely and how to multiply their capital. I encourage everyone to master the stock exchange ABC during the course conducted by experts from the Warsaw School of Economics. At the end of the course, participants will receive a certificate from SGH, a leading economic university in Poland.
The programme is divided into 5 thematic areas:
- Impact of the economic environment on the stock exchange
- Operations of the Warsaw Stock Exchange
- Capital market and financial instruments
- Selection and evaluation of companies
- Technical analysis, behavioural finance and the principles of financial instrument portfolio management
The stock market teaches us that knowledge is one of the key elements for success. During the course, our specialists introduce participants step by step to the most important aspects from the point of view of novice stock market investors. Both the programme and the materials are updated on an ongoing basis in order to respond credibly and reliably to challenges in a dynamically changing socio-economic situation. Knowledge is the key to conscious risk management and, consequently, to satisfactory investment of savings.
Applications for the scholarship can be submitted until 19 June, 2022 at https://app.becas-santander.com/pl/program/ping_sgh_gpw. Participation in the programme is free of charge, and applicants do not need to have a university degree or be a bank customer. Participants will receive a certificate of completion of the programme from the Warsaw School of Economics and the WSE Foundation.
