Santander Bank Polska with award for Best Cooperating Institution
Santander Bank Polska received a special award in the Best Cooperating Institution category of the Business Protector programme. In the Securitisation Organisers category, Santander Leasing was awarded.
The Business Protector award is given to financial institutions that acted as National Financial Intermediaries for EU Financial Instruments during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their task was, inter alia, to mitigate the negative impact of the pandemic on Polish companies from the SME sector and to encourage entrepreneurs to take advantage of financial assistance from the European Union.
Santander Bank Polska was one of 91 financial institutions that joined in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. Thanks to the cooperation of the financial industry and the National Contact Point, 30 thousand entrepreneurs from the SME sector received assistance, and its total value reached almost PLN 4 billion.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we provided companies with the instant support they so desperately needed. This was possible, among other things, thanks to our cooperation with public institutions in initiating new public programmes to support entrepreneurs, as well as adapting existing programmes to new circumstances and market needs,
In addition, as a bank, we have taken measures that have accelerated the digitalisation of processes and made it easier for small and medium-sized business owners to access financing for ongoing expenses and investments to help adapt their business to the pandemic reality.
The Best Cooperating Institution Awards were presented to the bank by the National Contact Point for Financial Instruments of the European Union Programmes, operating at the Polish Bank Association. The awards went to institutions that supported Polish entrepreneurs during the 2020-2022 pandemic and promoted EU Financial Instruments.
