The Sustainability (CSRCorporate Social ResponsibilityCorporate Social Responsibility) Policy of Santander Bank Polska defines our approach to sustainable development, the main goal of which is to manage the social and environmental risk and to build long-term value for all stakeholdersParties which have influence on the organisation or under the organisation’s influenceParties which have influence on the organisation or under the organisation’s influence: employees, customers, business partners, shareholders and communities.

The document contains a number of voluntary ethical, social and environmental commitments which go far beyond the requirements imposed by the applicable legal regulations. The policy is complemented by a number of other, detailed regulations adopted by the bank, including:

  • Climate Change Policy,
  • Human Rights Policy,
  • Corporate Volunteering Policy,
  • Sector Risk Management Policies applicable to sensitive sectors, including the arms, energy and wood industries.

We are one of few financial institutions which have developed and implemented such a broad package of CSRCorporate Social ResponsibilityCorporate Social Responsibility and sustainability policies which regulate not only our internal actions or supply chain practices but also business relationships with potential customers.

We are continuously improving our competences towards taking our own activities and initiating joint projects together with our stakeholdersParties which have influence on the organisation or under the organisation’s influenceParties which have influence on the organisation or under the organisation’s influence, which bring us closer to the implementation of our CSRCorporate Social ResponsibilityCorporate Social Responsibility goals.

We are aware that the bank has a multidimensional impact on the environment, and therefore, we base our CSRCorporate Social ResponsibilityCorporate Social Responsibility Policy on 5 foundations:

 

  • Supporting higher education, research and the idea of entrepreneurship

  • Supporting social initiatives

  • Engaging in a dialogue with our stakeholdersParties which have influence on the organisation or under the organisation’s influenceParties which have influence on the organisation or under the organisation’s influence: customers, employees, business partners, local communities and investors

  • Protecting the natural environment

  • Engaging in charity activities and financing important social projects by the Foundation of Santander Bank Polska

We believe that by committing to these areas of activity, the bank can contribute to significant social changes. We are working hard to ensure that the effects of our activities have impact on the local level, and support both regional and countrywide social and economic development.
