We support local economy

In 2017, we launched a pilot project called ”Buy from Your Neighbour” (Kupuj u sąsiada), aimed at promoting conscious consumer attitudes directed at supporting local business, produce and services.

In accordance with the assumption “Buy from your neighbour”:

entrepreneurs joining the programme offer discounts on their goods or services

and Santander Bank Polska offers them communication support, which includes advertising their offers on the project event’s website

The “Buy from Your Neighbour” initiative can be joined by small and medium-sized enterprises. The municipality where their business is registered is not without significance, since the most active municipalities are awarded a financial prize, which they can then use to pursue a local initiative in the public interest. Hence, the final beneficiaries of the programme are the inhabitants of the winning municipality.

Economic education based on dedicated scripts carried out in local schools is an integral part of the project. Classes are run by volunteers from our bank and contribute to building economic skills among young citizens, making informed consumer decisions and promoting the “Buy from Your Neighbour” project among local communities.

The majority of respondents declared their will to participate in this type of programme.

In 2018, we are implementing the “Buy from Your Neighbour” programme in the Silesian region.
