Celebrating the 7th anniversary of the Diversity Charter

On February 14, 2019 we will be celebrating the 7th anniversary of the Diversity Charter in Poland, a program coordinated by the Responsible Business Forum. This international initiative is implemented under the auspices of the European Commission in 19 member states of the European Union.

Each organization which becomes the Charter signatory makes certain commitments including prevention of discrimination and promotion of diversity programs and declares willingness to engage its employees and business partners in the activities. Santander Bank Polska joined the community of the Diversity Charter signatories on May 24, 2017.

In our daily activities we support projects which promote diversity, some of them addressed to our staff and other targeting external stakeholders. One of such projects is called ‘The Differently Abled’. Its goal is to create a diverse workplace by adapting the organization and its facilities to employing persons with disabilities which is consistent with the Santander Group’s values.

In 2018, Santander Bank Polska was a partner to the 5th National Diversity Day during which 120 people took an active part in various kinds of discussion panels and workshops focusing on the subject of creating discrimination-free workplaces. More information about the event can be found here.

For a number of years, we have been running a program called ‘Barrier-Free Service’ under which we implement a range of actions and complex solutions aimed at preventing social and economic exclusion of people with disabilities. Our commitment was recognised on June 13 2018 with an honorary mention in the competition ”Wielkopolska Open to Persons with Disabilities”.

We were also a partner to the 9th Entrepreneur Academy (2017/2018) which encompassed 22 conferences held in different cities of Poland. The meetings focused around two subjects” communication in business and the female side of business.
