Santander #LifelongLearning Scholarships – Santander promotes the idea of lifelong learning
The Santander Group is responding to the needs of the labour market and is launching a call for applications for new Santander Scholarships, which increase the chances of finding employment regardless of age. This time, the scholarship programmes are open not only to students and university graduates, but also to all people over the age of 18 who are interested in improving their professional skills.
According to the World Economic Forum 2020, dynamic digitalisation will cause as many as 85 million jobs to become obsolete in the next 5 years, while creating almost 97 million new jobs requiring digital competences. In response to these challenges, this year the Santander Group is implementing scholarship programmes that will enable professional retraining (reskilling) – helping people to acquire new knowledge and so-called upskilling, i.e. upgrading the skills they already have to work effectively in a time of dynamic transformation and digitisation of the economy.
At Santander Bank Polska we are strongly committed to corporate social responsibility activities. We support education and development, among other things, through the scholarship projects we offer. We want to offer equal opportunities, help people find employment and develop the local communities of which we are a part. Last year almost 10,000 people from Poland signed up for Santander Universidades projects of whom nearly 3,000 took part in courses upgrading competences or received financial scholarships.
