Entrepreneurs learn about their rights during free-of-charge webinars from Santander Bank Polska

In times of crisis, caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, many entrepreneurs are looking for solutions that will provide appropriate support for their activities in order to protect themselves from the negative effects of the pandemic. Santander Bank Polska in cooperation with Grant Thornton and the Wrocław School of Banking advise how to deal with such challenges during free webinars.

In the first quarter of 2020 alone, the value of payments from Polish entrepreneurs overdue by at least 30 days increased in value by PLN 909 million. According to the data from the Register of Debtors kept by BIG InfoMonitor and the Credit Information Bureau (BIK), at the end of March, the debts of companies in Poland totalled as much as PLN 33.2 billion. Altogether, more than 314 thousand enterprises are struggling with the repayment of their debts.

The increase in the debt of Polish entrepreneurs is clearly linked to the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic. Many companies have found themselves in a difficult financial situation which, in extreme cases, even threatens their existence. Santander Bank Polska constantly provides new aid solutions for its clients but we also strongly believe in the role of education in the crisis. Therefore, in order to support business in Poland, we are a co-organiser of webinars, which we hope will help entrepreneurs to draw up their action plans for the crisis period,” comments Paweł Stamburski, Director of the Business and Corporate Banking Products and Services Area at Santander Bank Polska

Webinars on the challenges that entrepreneurs have to face during the crisis are free and available to everyone, not only bank customers. So far, there have already been four sessions which have been very successful and have given participants the opportunity to gain very specific knowledge on the topics related to running a company in crisis.

In the nearest future, training courses will be offered, which will focus on the activities of the company’s management and their responsibility in the event of debts appearing in the company.
