Santander Bank Polska S.A. named Bank of the Year by The Banker Magazine
For the third time in its history, Santander Bank Polska S.A. received the title of the ”Bank of the Year in Poland 2018” in one of the most prestigious industry competitions organized by The Banker.
The award is a token of recognition of the bank’s strong position and successful implementation of Santander Bank Polska’s strategic projects.
The ”Bank of the Year in Poland” title was awarded to Santander Bank Polska by the competition judging panel third time. Our bank received this exceptional award across highly esteemed across the entire financial industry twice in the past, in 2010 and 2012. The decision on the award of the title is made by The Banker’s editors on the basis of such indicators as profitability, growth and performance, as well as more subjective criteria, such as the implemented strategy, the adopted leadership model and the innovativeness of the products and services offered.
In the justification of the award, the judges emphasized improvement of performance and profitability and the innovative nature of products and services offered. Other achievements mentioned included a significant progress in the strategic development and taking over the leadership of the private banking segment following the acquisition of a demerged business of Deutsche Bank Polska S.A.
At the same time, according to the judges, Santander Bank Polska S.A. managed to retain its unique character and continue the implementation of the innovative ”Bank As You Want It” business model under which Santander, as the first bank in Poland, offers customers a new bank account with a range of additional functionalities, the parameters of which are individually adapted by customers depending on their needs and preferred lifestyle.
This year, more Santander Group banks have won ‘Bank of the Year’ titles in their respective countries, including Santander Chile, Santander Argentina and Santander Portugal.
