Green organization

Our ways to reduce negative environmental impact include:

  • use of new technologies,

  • systematic replacement of traditional light sources with LED lighting,

  • replacement of AC units with more energy-efficient models (to reduce CO2 emissions),

  • change of the cooling agent used in AC systems for a more environment-friendly substance.

Energy and emissions

In 2018, the bank changed the technology of all advertising neon signs on the buildings in favour of LED light sources. During the rebranding process, the neon lights were replaced in all branches, head offices and ATMs, altogether in more than 1,400 locations in Poland.

  • 100%

of the bank’s neon signs are LED-powered.

Electric energy consumption in 2018 (MWh)
Total electric energy consumption 36,144.076
Total consumption of energy from non-renewable sources, of which: 16,407.62
natural gas  11,854.05
fuel oil  1,925.08
diesel oil 2,628.49
Percentage of green energy purchased by the bank in 2018 15% – according to the law in force, each seller in 2018 had to sell energy with a minimum 15% share of energy from renewable sources.

In 2020, we are planning to acquire 100% energy from renewable sources.

Paper

All printers in the bank are automatically set to double-sided printing. More and more processes are handled electronically via email.. Since 2017, the bank has used an electronic invoice management system and its suppliers have a possibility to send e-invoices directly to the system.

The increased consumption of paper and volume of paper sent for recycling compared to 2017 is mainly a result of the merger and rebranding. Both processes required revision of all printed materials by the bank to reflect the new legal situation and new visual identification. It is also an effect of the closing of some branches and major relocations in 2018 during which all redundant documents were destroyed.
